Spanish Springs Elementary School Student Wins Grant, Praise for Helping Homeless

Adylenn TrimbleNine-year-old  Adylenn Trimble, a student at Spanish Springs Elementary School, has been awarded a $500 Disney/YSA grant to fund her “Homeless Helpers” project. She made 200 care bags to take to the homeless shelter after gathering donations of hats, gloves, snacks, toothbrushes/toothpaste, and hair care products at school.

She also received a private monetary donation and combined the funds to buy more supplies including diapers, hand wipes, handwarmers, shaving cream, razors, feminine hygiene products, and fruit. She delivered her donations to Each donation carried a tagthe homeless shelter in downtown Reno for distribution.
