Every day, Holly Clark gets up early and takes several hundred students to and from Shaw Middle School and Alyce Taylor Elementary School in Sparks. She says one of her favorite parts of the job is welcoming the students each day as they get on her bus.
This year, Clark was assigned to a new bus route, and decided to make the holidays extra special for her students. At Halloween, she surprised them with a bus decked out with skeletons and pumpkins and black cat decorations.
Earlier this month, she drove a different bus for a few days while she spent hours decorating her regular bus with Christmas trees, stockings, and snowflakes. Her students were thrilled to see her and to ride in the decorated bus, calling it “spectacular” and “beautiful.”
Shaw Middle School Principal Gina Leonhard says Clark’s warmth and enthusiasm help her students begin and end their day with a smile, setting the stage for a positive and happy day at school.

Congratulations, Holly, and thank you for your hard work on behalf of our students!
