Lending a Helping Hand: WCSD Volunteers Unveil “Asset Map”

AChildren sitting in classrooms part of its continuing effort to provide effective placement of enrichment programs in its schools, the Washoe County School District (WCSD) Volunteer Services Department has created an “online asset map,” an extensive listing of academic/enrichment programs currently used in our schools. The asset map lists dozens of organizations that provide specialty programs at schools that encompass art, health, financial literacy, and much more.

Each of the more than 90 schools in WCSD has at least one community group providing enrichment programs for students, and WCSD hopes the availability of the asset map will help encourage even more groups to get involved in education in Washoe County.
