Superintendent Traci Davis was thrilled to join families, teachers, and guests at a ceremony to recognize thirty-five impressive sixth grade students at Van Gorder Elementary School. Six of the students received the President’s Gold Excellence Award and the remaining students were presented with the President’s Silver Excellence Award.
The event started out with the school’s choir singing the National Anthem. Principal Jen Van Tress welcomed all the attendees and introduced the event coordinator and sixth grade teacher, Sara Day. Sara introduced a special guest speaker, Diane Dye Hansen of What Works Coaching, who offered words of encouragement to the group linking her message with the Van Gorder Red Hawk’s school motto.
