Students in schools across Nevada participated in Mock Election Day on November 1, an event which provided teachers with an opportunity to teach them about civic responsibility and the importance of researching issues and casting their ballots in every election.
Did students’ opinions mirror those of voting adults? The media wanted to know, too!
The Reno Gazette Journal interviewed a number of students who were voting for the first time on Tuesday, November 6, and posted an article: https://www.rgj.com/story/news/education/2018/11/06/skipping-school-no-problem-if-you-were-out-voting-said-unr/1909271002/ Many congratulations to our students who exercised their voting rights this year!
