Zoning Advisory Committee—Meets monthly

  • Evaluates and make recommendations related to school attendance zones.

  • The Zoning Advisory Committee is seeking to fill a vacated seat for a term ending June 30, 2020.

School Naming Committee—Meets periodically, as needed  

  • Evaluates and make recommendations related to the naming of new schools.

  • The School Naming Committee is seeking to fill a vacated seat for a term ending June 30, 2019.

Council on Family Resource Centers—Meets quarterly or as needed

  • Creates the annual action plan to be implemented by each of the District’s Family Resource Centers related to their mission to help individuals and families access needed services and support in the community

  • The Council is seeking one community member to fill a vacated seat for a term ending June 30, 2020. A completed application and letter of intent (resume optional) is due no later than Friday, April 28, 2018.

Safe and Healthy Schools Commission—Meets monthly

  • Evaluates and makes recommendations related to the safety and security of schools

  • The Safe and Healthy Schools Commission is seeking to fill a vacated seat in the At-Large category for a two-year term beginning July 1, 2018 and ending June 30, 2020.

Sexuality, Health and Responsibility Education (SHARE) Advisory Committee—Meetings bi-monthly or as needed

  • Advises the District and Board of Trustees concerning the content of and materials to be used in a course of instruction regarding Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), human reproductive system, related communicable diseases, and sexual responsibility

  • The Committee is seeking three members whose terms will end June 30, 2020:
  • One parent/guardian of a District student
  • Two members selected from the categories of medical/nursing, District teacher, or District student
  • A completed application and letter of intent is due no later than Friday, April 27, 2018. A resume is required for the medical/nursing and teacher categories.

Student Wellness Advisory Committee—Three meetings per year, or as needed

  • Services in an advisory function to the Superintendent in areas of student health and wellness

  • The Committee is seeking five members whose terms will end June 30, 2020:
  • Two community members with knowledge/experience in the area of health
  • One parent/guardian of a District student
  • An elementary school teacher from a District school
  • An administrator from a District elementary school
  • A completed application and letter of intent is due no later than Friday, April 27, 2018. A resume is optional for the community health category.
